šŸ“ From The Desk Of Andrew Cass

The older I get, the more I notice how quickly we start confusingĀ movementĀ withĀ momentum...

We check boxes, reply to messages, crank through meetings — and convince ourselves it’s progress. But the truth is, a lot of people are sprinting hard in circles.

I caught myself doing it not long ago. Everything looked ā€œbusyā€ on the surface, but very little of it wasĀ building.Ā That’s when I pulled the brakes and asked the one question that’s saved me more than once:

ā€œWhat’s actually compounding right now?ā€

That question changes everything.

It separates the noise from the signal. It exposes what’s real. And it usually reveals that the next level of growth isn’t about doingĀ more — it’s about doingĀ less, better.

That’s what this week’s issue is about — sharpening focus, recognizing where leverage is already hiding inside your business, and making sure you’re moving in ways that actually compound.

And as always, don’t skip theĀ Top ReadsĀ section below — this week’s picks dive intoĀ leadership at scale, Buffett’s timeless wealth principles,Ā andĀ why deliberate disconnection might just be the ultimate performance hack.

Welcome toĀ Issue #10Ā ofĀ The Growth Stack.

ā€œThe Compression Phase: The AI Advantage Is Shrinking — How To Stay Ahead Of The Curveā€

I’ve seen this curve before…

Back in 2005–2007, I was a heavy Google PPC advertiser — running campaigns that produced leads and sales at prices that seem laughable now. It was the Wild West. You could target buyers with precision, outmaneuver slower competitors, and scale profitably almost overnight. Then the Google Slaps started.

Practically overnight, ad costs skyrocketed, quality scores changed, and entire businesses vanished. The early-mover advantage evaporated. What had once been a playground for entrepreneurs became a battlefield for corporations with deeper pockets.

Same thing happened with email. Then with SEO. Then with social media. Then with Facebook ads.

Every revolution follows the same pattern — a brief window where early adopters enjoy asymmetrical advantage. The faster you build during that window, the more compounding leverage you lock in before the crowd shows up.

That’s exactly where we are with AI.

The window hasn’t closed yet — but the frame is tightening.

The Three Phases of the AI Adoption Curve

Every technological revolution moves through three clear stages:

2023–2024 — The Setup Phase

  • AI tools exploded.

  • Business owners dabbled.

  • Early adopters built real leverage while everyone else was ā€œexperimenting.ā€

2025–2027 — The Consolidation Phase (where we are now)

  • AI adoption crosses critical mass.

  • Winners systematize; laggards stall out.

  • Margins compress because everyone finally has the same ā€œAI toys.ā€ā€Øā€Ø

2028 and Beyond — The Institutional Phase

  • AI automation becomes table stakes — no longer a differentiator.

  • You’re either compounding from systems you already installed or trying to catch up in a market that’s already been automated.

This middle stretch — the Compression Phase — is the moment when the early-mover advantage starts to shrink.

Access is no longer rare. Integration becomes everything.

The Death of Novelty

We’ve officially entered the stage where everyone has access to the same tools. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney, Perplexity — they’re all converging. That means the advantage has shifted from who uses AI to how deeply they’ve built it in.

The early adopters who spent the last two years building systems — not just playing with prompts — are now compounding at a rate that’s almost impossible to replicate. Their AI is trained on proprietary data, refined for their workflows, and integrated into every critical function of the business.

Meanwhile, the late majority is showing up with the same tools but no context, no refinement, and no real use case. They’ll soon realize that ā€œhaving AIā€ doesn’t mean they have AI leverage.

This is the compression effect in real time.

Just like cheap traffic disappeared when everyone learned to bid, cheap automation leverage will vanish once everyone learns to build. The temporary gap between access and execution is closing — fast.

Staying Ahead of the Compression Curve

Every compression cycle creates new winners — just not for the same reasons as before.

Once everyone has access to the same tools, the advantage shifts to implementation speed, operational depth, and clarity of insight.

That’s where The Growth Stack comes in…

In an era where AI and automation are evolving weekly, most business owners are still consuming surface-level noise — recycled headlines and listicles that keep them reactive, not strategic.

The Growth Stack exists to cut through that noise…

Every week, it’s your playbook for staying sharp, staying informed, and staying ahead of the curve — so you can make decisions before the market catches up. Because once a trend hits the mainstream, the advantage is already gone. And that’s the difference between following the revolution — and leading it.

Ask yourself these questions to assess where you’re at:

  1. Where have you already embedded AI or tech automation that compounds?

  2. Where are you still ā€œexperimentingā€ instead of systemizing?

The goal isn’t to chase every new tool — it’s to identify one area where deeper integration this quarter will keep you on the right side of the compression curve. See ya next week!
