πŸ“ From The Desk Of Andrew Cass

A few weeks back I was at dinner with an operator doing just under $2 million a year...

Sharp guy. When I asked how business was going, he rattled off his revenue, his margins, his best month ever β€” down to the dollar, no hesitation.

Then I asked him something different. "What are you actually worth?"

Silence. Then a guess. Then a shrug.

Here's a man who could recite his business numbers cold… and had no real idea about the one number that decides whether all that revenue is actually building anything.

That's not unusual. That's the norm. And it's the reason for this week's issue.

Because there's a number almost nobody in our world is tracking β€” and it's the truest scorecard you've got. Not the one you post about. Not the one you drop at dinner. The quiet one that tells you, honestly, whether you're winning.

In The Main Event, I break down why the number you stare at every day might be lying to you, the real difference between owners who look rich and owners who are rich, and how two people with identical revenue can end up worlds apart. I'll leave the rest for you to read.

Then in Your Implementation Blueprint, I walk you through building your own version of that number from scratch β€” one page, under 10 minutes, done before your coffee gets cold.

As always, The Growth Stack team has curated three Top Reads for you this week. Entrepreneur digs into why most referral efforts stay passive and unpredictable β€” and how to engineer a real system for the business growth channel most owners leave to luck. Kiplinger delivers the perfect companion to today's issue, a step-by-step walk-through for building the exact document at the heart of this week's Main Event β€” wealth building made concrete. And Entrepreneur makes the case that true peak performance comes from managing your energy instead of your time, with four ways to protect the fuel that decides how much you get done.

So before you check your revenue one more time this week, sit with the harder question:

"If someone asked what you're actually worth right now β€” could you answer?"

Let's go!

Launch HighLevel For Your Business In Under An Hour β€” Live, With A Coach!

Most operators invest (smartly) in GoHighLevel software to eliminate layers of unneccesary tech subsriptions and go on to save $500 to $1,000 PER MONTH on average.

But…

Some then stall out in the setup. The HighLevel Bootcamp fixes that. It's a free, live, click-by-click Zoom class where a HighLevel coach walks you through launching your business inside the platform β€” text marketing, missed-call text-back, reviews, and more β€” in 60 minutes flat. Breakout rooms, real implementation, and you walk away with a live business instead of a to-do list. Includes a 30-day free trial plus a stack of free bonuses!

Speed is king β€” so don't just sit on another login.

πŸ“’ The Main Event

"Do You Know YOUR Number? Why The Wealthy Track Net Worth, Not Revenue."

Every week, we break down the big-picture strategy behind the shifts happening in businessβ€”so you can see around corners while others are still catching up.

Ask any seven-figure service-based business owner what they did in revenue last month, and they'll fire back the number before you finish the question.

Ask them what they're actually worth β€” their real, personal net worth, today, to the dollar β€” and you'll get a pause. A guess. A range with a shrug attached.

That pause is the whole problem…

Because revenue is the number you watch. Net worth is the number that watches you. And the gap between how well you know the first and how vaguely you know the second is, quietly, the difference between looking rich and being rich.

Revenue Is Vanity. Net Worth Is Truth.

Here's what most operators never sit with:

Revenue measures activity. Net worth measures result.

You can run a million-dollar business and be one bad quarter from a cash crisis. You can have huge months and a net worth that's barely moved in three years, because everything that came in went right back out β€” taxes, lifestyle, the next hire, the next launch.

The scoreboard you stare at every day tells you how busy the machine is. It tells you almost nothing about whether you're winning.

The wealthy figured this out long ago. They don't fall in love with top-line numbers. They track one figure above all others: what they own, minus what they owe. Everything else is noise.

What The Number Actually Is

Your net worth is one line of math: total assets minus total liabilities.

Assets are everything you own that has value β€” cash and savings, investment and brokerage accounts, retirement accounts, real estate equity, and yes, the realistic value of your business as one line item, not the whole story.

Liabilities are everything you owe β€” mortgages, business debt, lines of credit, car loans, anything with a balance.

Subtract the second from the first, and you have your number. One figure. The truest one you own.

And here's why it matters more than any revenue report…

Net worth is the only number that can't lie to you. You can feel rich because money's flowing. You can feel broke because you just made payroll.Β

The net worth statement doesn't care how you feel. It tells you exactly where you stand β€” which is the only place real decisions can be made from.

A Tale Of Two Owners

Let me make this concrete…

Two owners. Both did $1.2M in revenue last year. Both feel successful. From the outside, identical.

Owner A has never built a net worth statement. Money comes in, money goes out. Nice house, nice cars, both financed. About $40K in the business checking account that doubles as the personal emergency fund. No real investment accounts outside a forgotten 401(k) from a job fifteen years ago. When you actually run the math β€” assets minus liabilities β€” the number is around $280K. On $1.2M in revenue. And he has no idea, because he's never once added it up.

Owner B has tracked her number every quarter for six years. Same revenue. But she's watched the figure, so she's managed the figure. $300K across brokerage and retirement accounts. $450K in home equity. $150K in cash reserves. Modest debt because she could see it dragging on the number every quarter. Her net worth is $1.1M β€” nearly four times Owner A's β€” on the exact same revenue.

Same top line. Same lifestyle on paper. A 4x difference in actual wealth.

The difference wasn't income. It was that one of them was keeping score on the number that matters, and the other was flying blind on the only number that does.

What you measure, you manage. What you ignore, you lose.

The Number Changes How You Decide

Once you can see your net worth, something shifts. Every decision gets clearer.

That $80K you were about to drop on a new truck stops being "a monthly payment I can cover" and becomes "an $80K hit to my number." That cash piling up in the business account stops being invisible and starts being capital you could put to work. The tax strategy you kept putting off suddenly has a price tag you can feel.

You start asking a better question. Not "can I afford the payment?" β€” anyone can rationalize a payment. The real question becomes: β€œdoes this grow my number or shrink it?”

That single reframe is what separates owners who build lasting wealth from owners who just have good income. The first group makes every financial decision in service of one figure they watch like a hawk. The second group makes decisions in a fog and hopes it works out.

Speed is king in business β€” but you can't move fast in a direction you can't see. The net worth statement is the map. Without it, you're sprinting blind.

The Bottom Line

You already track your business numbers obsessively. Revenue, margins, cost per lead, close rates. You'd never run the business blind.

Yet most owners run their personal wealth completely blind β€” no statement, no number, no scoreboard. They know their business cold and their own financial position not at all.

That ends with one document.

Sit down and build your net worth statement. List what you own. List what you owe. Do the subtraction. It takes about 15 minutes, and it may be the most clarifying 15 minutes you spend this year β€” because for the first time, you'll see the real score.

You can't grow what you don't measure. And right now, the most important number in your life might be the one you've never written down.

When I started doing this many years ago, I became hyper-conscious. Most are unconscious. Big difference.Β

Your Implementation Blueprint below walks you through building that first draft in 15 minutes flat β€” a single page you can finish before your coffee gets cold.

So I'll ask it plainly: do you know your number?

If the honest answer is no, that's not a failure. It's the most valuable place to start.

πŸ’‘ Your Implementation Blueprint

Here's where strategy meets action. Each week, we give you the tactical steps to implement what you just learnedβ€”so you can capitalize on the insight immediately.

How To Build Your Net Worth Statement In Under 15 Minutes

You just read why the number matters. Now let's put it on paper. One page, one sitting, done today.

Step 1: Open A Blank Page (1 minute)
Open a spreadsheet or a plain doc. Make two columns: Assets (what you own) and Liabilities (what you owe). That's the entire structure. Don't overthink it.

Step 2: List Your Assets (4 minutes)
Ballpark figures are fine for the first pass β€” precision comes later. Write down:

  • Cash: checking, savings, business account

  • Investments: brokerage accounts, stocks, crypto

  • Retirement: 401(k)s, IRAs, any old accounts you've forgotten

  • Real estate equity: current value minus what you still owe

  • Your business: a conservative, realistic value β€” one line, not a fantasy number

  • Anything else significant: vehicles owned outright, other assets

Total the column.

Step 3: List Your Liabilities (3 minutes)
Every balance you carry:

  • Mortgage(s)

  • Business debt and lines of credit

  • Vehicle loans

  • Credit card balances

  • Any other loans

Total the column.

Step 4: Do The Subtraction (30 seconds)
Total assets minus total liabilities. That figure is your net worth. Your number. Sit with it for a second β€” most owners have never once seen it.

Step 5: Date It And Set A Reminder (30 seconds)
Put today's date at the top. Then set a recurring calendar reminder to rebuild it every 90 days. The single number is useful. The direction it moves over time is everything.

What Success Looks Like
You now have the one document the wealthy update religiously and most operators have never made β€” a single page showing exactly where you stand. Ninety days from now, you'll do it again, and for the first time you'll see whether your number is climbing or stalling. That's the moment revenue stops being the scoreboard and your net worth takes its place.

Speed is king β€” so don't file this under "someday." Under 15-minutes. Today. Then watch it move.
